Cart is empty Well, this is what happened to me in the fateful year, 2023, when my life got uprooted and turned upside down. Suddenly, in a flash, I was confronted with a part of me I never knew I had and it took me all the way through a depth of pain and shame I have never experienced before! It took me to the other side of understanding of human experience as a painful journey that we all walk on our own terms.
– I know it all too well! Having worked in the field of mental health for many years, I have been privy to many stories, some catastrophic and truly heart-breaking. I have worked with a lot of people, walking alongside them, along the most difficult paths of their lives, trying to rekindle and uphold hope during times when hope was difficult for them to find. Watching them combating life and death decisions, no win situations that needed to be faced despite ongoing challenges, full of debilitating emotions making it hard for them to go on.
I have been on these journeys many times and I know the feelings of them, but always from the sidelines.
Because, it made me stronger and gave me courage I never knew I had, including the courage to write this book. That is, in fact the biggest learning I drew from the whole experience. The most challenging situations in life are the ones that really force us to reflect on the life we live, creating invaluable points of reflection; changing us forever!
